Rock Hard (Rock Kiss #2)

Wealthy businessman Gabriel Bishop rules the boardroom with the same determination and ruthlessness that made him a rock star on the rugby field. He knows what he wants, and he’ll go after it no-holds-barred.

And what he wants is Charlotte Baird.

Charlotte knows she’s a mouse. Emotionally scarred and painfully shy, she just wants to do her job and remain as invisible as possible. But the new CEO—a brilliant, broad-shouldered T-Rex of a man who growls and storms through the office, leaving carnage in his wake—clearly has other plans. Plans that may be equal parts business and bedroom.

If Charlotte intends to survive this battle of wits and hearts, the mouse will have to learn to wrangle the T-Rex. Game on.

REVIEW

I loved this book.

Charlotte Baird is a mouse. Previous trauma caused by an Ex has seriously damaged her for future relationships and prevents her from having contact with most men.
The company she works for is  floundering and they  bring in  Gabriel Bishop  as CEO, his soul purpose is to revamp the image of struggling company’s and clean house and then move on to the next. Gabriel is an EX professional rugby player. He is a grumpy, no nonsense, and demanding. Charlotte calls him T-Rex. Early on he recognizes her potential and she becomes an asset to him and the company. As the book progresses he pushes her to fight back, argue and put her foot down. At one point she even threw a muffin at his head. That part made he smile especially big.
Gabriel has never gone for someone like Charlotte, timid and small boned she is the opposite of what he likes. But the longer he is around her the more he wants her, and he is smart and cunning in his perusal of her. SLOW and Sneaky.
As the book progressed it got better and better. I absolutely loved the characters. And watching Charlotte grow was a wonderful experience. And seeing this Brute of a man be so patient for her and crumble at her pain was a beautiful experience. He wanted her so ferociously and waited and waited. THAT IS LOVE.

When Gabriel decided she was his, his single minded dedication to her was pretty impressive. I really enjoyed this book and it runs parallel to the 1st in the series, and though I had not read the 1st book, I did not miss anything because of it. This book can definitely be read as a stand alone, however I am running out to get the 1st in the series TODAY!

I received an ARC through Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
